Onsite Production of 99.999% Grade Industrial Hydrogen

Stable on-site 5N hydrogen supply can be realized by matching methanol steam reforming with single-stage PSA purification. We configure every methanol reformer based on factory waste heat, hourly hydrogen demand, workshop space, raw material access and long-term cost, perfectly matching small hydrogen production plant and green hydrogen plant construction.
HYVODA independently developed the compact DPH hydrogen gas generator for 15–100 Nm³/h medium-small hydrogen demand. This hydrogen generator replaces costly hydrogen cylinders and ammonia cracking equipment to cut gas procurement costs greatly. Its core advantage is heat-source-free design; the methanol reformer fully adopts factory existing waste heat or process steam to save extra heating energy for hydrogen production plant.

Methanol Reforming Utilizing Client’s Existing Process Heat

Methanol reforming relying on factory residual heat is the most cost-effective solution for factories with waste heat recovery systems. Different from traditional electric heating equipment, this methanol reformer runs on external thermal sources without independent heating devices. The core reaction is steam reforming of methanol, also called reforming methanol. Equipped with one-stage PSA system, the hydrogen gas generator outputs dry 5N hydrogen with -73℃ dew point, satisfying strict gas standards of metallurgy, glass and electronic green hydrogen plant.

 

Compact Skid-Mounted Methanol Reforming & PSA System

The DPH hydrogen generator integrates methanol mixing, vaporization and methanol reformer into one explosion-proof compact skid. All assemblies are fully pre-assembled and tested before delivery. Single unit covers 15–100 Nm³/h, and multiple units can run in parallel to expand capacity for Green Hydrogen Production Plant.

HOW IT WORKS

External Waste Heat Driven Methanol Reforming + PSA Purification Process

  1. Feed Proportioning & Vaporization: Methanol and demineralized water are blended and vaporized by factory surplus steam/waste heat
  2. Catalytic Methanol Steam Reforming: Mixed vapor flows over dedicated catalyst inside methanol reformer to complete reforming methanol reaction and form hydrogen-rich crude syngas
  3. Cooling & Condensation: High-temperature syngas cools down; unreacted methanol condensate recycles back to feed tank
  4. Single-Stage PSA Purification: Molecular sieve removes impurities to get standard 5N hydrogen for hydrogen production plant
  5. Tail Gas Recovery: PSA waste tail gas is sent to customer boilers as auxiliary fuel to lift overall energy efficiency of methanol reforming
